I have focused on painting and picture making over the last 40 years. Inspiration for my pictures are from landscape and urban scenes with much of my work drawn from periods in Turkey, East Anglia, Buckinghamshire and the Gower coast in South Wales.

Working in line and wash, watercolours and acrylics, more recently, since my experiences at the Slade, I have begun to create paintings in oils and acrylics which have meant that my work relies more on form and tone and moving away from line.

Drawing is a very important part of my art. Aside from it being the equivalent of piano scales, time spent drawing everyday has ensured that my landscape work has a freeness and energy.
